US, Los Angeles: Compton Shots Fired At Police During Pursuit Prompts SWAT Callout
Los Angeles, United States - August 27, 2025 08/26/2025 10:45 pm GMT-0700 COMPTON, Calif. – A standoff involving SWAT teams was underway after a police pursuit that began near the 91 and 710 freeways late Tuesday. The suspect was initially wanted for allegedly firing shots at someone, according to preliminary reports. The pursuit escalated as the suspect began firing at deputies during the pursuit. A crime scene was established in the 14100 block of South Zamora Avenue, where deputies have locked down the area. Sheriff’s SWAT teams are currently arriving at the scene at the time of this report. Initial reports suggest that there might be up to three outstanding suspects.
