PHILIPPINES AIR FORCE COMMANDER ARTHUR CORDURA SPEAKINGNUEVA ECIJA, PHILIPPINES - AUG. 27: The Philippines Air Force deployed two Turkish-made T129 ATAK attack helicopters during the largest ever Combined Arms Live-Fire Exercise, part of the Australia-Philippines joint drill “ALON 25,” in Nueva Ecija, Philippines . The drill also featured British-made M777 howitzers, US-made FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missile systems, armored vehicles and other advanced weapons. Philippines Air Force Commander Arthur Cordura said the T129 ATAK helicopters will continue to play a critical role in the country’s inventory. The exercise was carried out as Canberra and Manila seek to strengthen future defense cooperation and military drills in the Indo-Pacific amid rising tensions in the South China Sea, Taiwan Strait and West Philippine Sea.
