Passenger attacks cabin crew before being restrained on flight in Russia
This is the shocking moment a furious plane passenger attacked two flight attendants and had to be restrained by fellow travellers during a tense onboard dispute.
The incident unfolded on the morning of August 23 aboard a Pobeda Airlines flight from Novosibirsk to Moscow in Russia, operated by a Boeing 737.
Just seven minutes after takeoff, the 39-year-old air holidaymaker seated in 10A reportedly became aggressive, alarming fellow flyers.
The cabin staff tried to calm her down and presented the onboard conduct guidelines. She then crumpled the paper and allegedly hurled it at one of the attendants.
Later, the red-haired woman demanded the mobile device used to film the scuffle from the flight crew. When her request was denied, she assaulted the senior attendant and another crew member.
Eyewitnesses reported that she struck them multiple times on the head.
Footage shows the traveller arguing with airline personnel near the front cabin before lunging at them and landing several blows.
Other passengers stepped in, pulling the woman away and restraining her until the plane touched down in Moscow.
Upon arrival at Sheremetyevo Airport, a rapid response unit intercepted the aircraft and removed the offender.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the event, revealing a report for petty hooliganism had been filed against the woman.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
