Phoenix, United States - August 28, 2025 08/28/2025 03:14 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix firefighters were dispatched to the 3100 block of West Southern Avenue to a reported traffic collision with people trapped. Firefighters arrived and located a passenger car and a pickup truck that had collided in the intersection of 31st Avenue and Southern Avenue. At least one occupant required extrication from their vehicle. According to preliminary information, one person was transported in critical condition to a local area hospital. A second patient was transported in unknown condition to a nearby hospital. Phoenix police arrived and closed both directions of Southern Avenue between 32nd Avenue and 30th Avenue. North and southbound lanes of 31st Avenue were closed at the intersection as officers began investigating the collision.
