6. VARIOUS OF AWARD CEREMONY KAZAN, TATARSTAN, RUSSIA - AUG. 28: The 4th Kazan Global Youth Summit began Thursday in Kazan, the capital of Russia's Republic of Tatarstan, bringing together young leaders from around the world to address pressing global issues.

The summit, for which Anadolu serves as the global communication partner, opened at the Kamal Theatre, with more than 200 delegates representing 45 countries taking part. The event is organized in partnership with the Tatarstan government, the Russian government, Kazan Federal University, the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) and other institutions.

Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leila Fazleeva expressed satisfaction with hosting the international event, noting such gatherings serve as tools for shaping global youth policy agendas. She emphasized the growing interest in the summit with expanding participation from diverse nations.

ICYF President Taha Ayhan highlighted the summit's evolution into a strong tradition since its establishment, describing it as a special venue where young leaders gather to share ideas and build the future together.

This year's summit theme centers on education and global transformations. Ayhan stressed that education's importance extends beyond professional success to productive societal participation, emphasizing character, creativity and leadership development.

The agenda includes discussions on climate change, identity issues, and the ongoing crisis in Gaza, with a focus on addressing these challenges through "wisdom and integrity."

Tatarstan presidential advisor Timur Suleymanov described the summit's purpose as bringing youth together to shape policies since 2022. He noted that global challenges require global approaches, making international cooperation essential.

The summit features ministers from Nicaragua, Venezuela and African nations, with strong representation from BRICS countries.

Suleymanov emphasized Tatarstan's role as a bridge helping Russia maintain international communication.

The summit runs through Aug. 30, addressing key issues facing young people in Organization of Islamic Cooperation member countries.
