The adverse weather led to fallen trees, property damage, and localized flooding, impacting daily life and infrastructure. In the capital, Tirana, powerful winds from the storm resulted in several trees being uprooted. The incident also caused damage to the premises of local businesses. Meanwhile, other cities across the country experienced substantial road flooding due to the intense rainfall. Air travel was also temporarily affected. Tirana International Airport “Nene Tereza” announced a 30-minute suspension of runway operations as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety during the peak of the storm. The Albanian Police issued a statement addressing the situation that developed over recent hours. They confirmed that the bad weather, characterized by strong winds, rain, and storms, had affected multiple regions. Additionally, the storms caused interruptions to the electricity supply in several cities, further compounding the challenges posed by the severe weather.
