GAZA, PALESTINE - AUG. 30: At least five Palestinians were killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Harzallah building in the al-Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza City, on Saturday, Aug. 30.

The strike is part of a major intensification of Israeli military operations across the coastal enclave, with artillery and aircraft heavily bombarding various areas.

The Israeli military, supported by land, air, and sea forces, is concentrating its operations in Gaza City, one of the most densely populated urban areas in the world. The army has declared the city a "dangerous combat zone."

The current phase of the offensive, dubbed "Gideon’s Chariots 2," was approved by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on August 21. It aims to occupy the city and began with extensive operations in the southeastern Zaytoun neighborhood before spreading to adjacent areas like Sabra.

According to the Gaza-based Health Ministry, the broader Israeli military campaign, which resumed on March 18 after a temporary ceasefire, has resulted in the deaths of 11,240 people and injured 47,794 others.

The Ministry stated on Saturday that the total Palestinian death toll since the war began in October 2023 has reached 63,371. It also reported that ten more people had died from starvation in the enclave, amid a severe humanitarian crisis.
