Runaway cow crashes into snack shop at Spanish festival
This is the dramatic moment a runaway cow crashed into a snack shop during a Spanish festival.
CCTV footage shows the runaway heifer sprinting toward the vending machine store during the bull run festival, sending frantic residents fleeing to safety in Navarre, Spain.
Four men in white shirts can be seen dashing inside the building as the horned beast bursts in on August 23. One of them falls and is attacked by the visibly enraged animal.
This prompted his friends to rush in, using a table and chairs to block the cow.
The cattle then sprinted further inside, giving locals a chance to escape the shop, before returning to the crowd in another attempt to flee.
Meanwhile, the man lying on the floor stood up and threw a cloth onto the doorway.
A local named Carlos Perez reportedly jumped on the animal and managed to restrain it.
Other neighbours joined in and guided the heifer back to the bullfighting route.
The Melida City Council later praised the residents for their intervention and confirmed that no one was injured.
In smaller towns across Spain, heifers are often used in local fiestas instead of full-grown bulls because they are lighter, less dangerous, and more affordable—though still capable of sparking chaos when they escape.
