This is the amusing moment a pet squirrel joined a motorcycle taxi rider at work by perching on his shoulder.

Ernern Anyaphat booked the hailing driver to return home when she spotted the adorable, tamed rodent perched atop the side mirror in Chonburi, Thailand.

Footage shows the rider gently grabbing the creature to dress it in an orange reflective vest as they waited at a red light on August 26.

The animal then climbed onto his shoulder and briefly stood still before crawling across his arms to return to the top of the mirror.

Moments later, as the rider accelerated down the road, the squirrel dashed into hiding inside the back of his owner's vest.

The playful antics elicited laughter from the passenger, who was amazed by the clever pet.

Squirrels are naturally very agile and playful, constantly climbing, jumping, and exploring their surroundings. They need space to move around, even in captivity, and can get restless if confined.
