Storyline: Japan's Ministry of Finance released its quarterly corporate statistics report Monday, revealing a mixed performance in the country's manufacturing sector during the second quarter of 2025. While manufacturing sales increased by 1.3 percent year on year, recurring profits fell by 11.5 percent, marking the second consecutive quarter of decline. The drop in profits is largely attributed to external factors such as the U.S. tariff policies and unfavorable currency exchange rates. Of the 11 manufacturing sub-sectors surveyed, seven experienced profit declines exceeding 10 percent. The transportation sector, including automotive manufacturing, saw recurring profits plunging by 29.7 percent. Shotlist: FILE: Tokyo, Japan - Date Unknown: 1.
