This was the shocking moment an out-of-control oil tanker ploughed into four cars on a busy road.

Dashcam footage shows the trucker honking at motorists ahead while veering off the inner southbound lane at Mabini Bridge in Manila, the Philippines.

The lorry then collided with a motorcycle rider, an AUV, and two SUVs on August 15.

The grey Toyota Veloz sustained massive dents on its sides.

Truck conductor Davidson Reyes said: 'We had no issue with the vehicle when we drove out of the factory, but when we were navigating the slope of the bridge, my driver felt that the brakes were loose, so he honked multiple times to warn the motorists.'

Police said that three individuals sustained injuries, with the motorcyclist suffering knee fractures and recovering in a hospital.

Michael Oso, the owner of the Toyota Veloz, said: 'I am thankful to God because He really took care of me and saved me from this incident. The driver repeatedly apologised to me, but I told him that he should also be grateful that no one died.'

The road crash caused traffic congestion in the area.

Authorities ordered the removal of the wrecked vehicles in the afternoon and continued towing the broken-down Isuzu tanker into the evening.

The truck driver reportedly faces complaints of reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries and damage to property.

In 2023, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported 13,101 deaths caused by road traffic accidents. In 2024, the Department of Health's Online National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (ONEISS) logged more than 37,000 injuries.

The most common causes include overspeeding, driving under the influence, distracted driving, faulty vehicles, and aggressive driving.
