Malaysia Airlines crew celebrate badminton stars on flight home from Paris
Malaysia Airlines cabin crew celebrated the country's badminton stars on their flight home from Paris.
Flight attendants welcomed the athletes in recognition of their achievements at the 2025 BWF World Championships.
Footage shows mixed doubles champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei as cabin crew approached them, waving Malaysian flags and offering congratulations.
Women's doubles silver medallists Pearly Tan and Muralitharan Thinaah were also on the flight.
Cheers erupted on board as Captain Ranganathan Manicam acknowledged the players.
The captain said: 'They have made history for our beloved country, Malaysia. Ladies and gentlemen, please join us in giving them a round of applause for this outstanding achievement.'
The four athletes made history in Paris, as Chen and Toh clinched Malaysia's first-ever world title in mixed doubles, while Tan and Thinaah became the first Malaysian pair to reach a women's doubles final at the event.
Malaysia Airlines added in a statement: 'On behalf of the nation, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to these athletes whose dedication and spirit have united Malaysians everywhere, carrying our flag and our dreams onto the world stage.'
Chen and Toh claimed the mixed doubles title over China's Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin in the final.
