Ducks Mascot Head Detaches During Pre-Game Entrance At Autzen Stadium
The University of Oregon’s 2025 season opener took an unexpected turn when the Ducks’ mascot, The Duck, lost its head during the pre-game entrance, a video filmed by Matt Hardie shows.
The mascot tripped, causing the head to detach, and the performer inside dashed back into the tunnel. A helper quickly retrieved the head, allowing The Duck to return to the field fully restored. This marks the third time such an incident has occurred.
Despite the comical mishap, Oregon defeated Montana State 49-14.
The footage quickly went viral online, generating memes and laughter that overshadowed the game’s outcome.
