Santa Fe Police Charge Wrong-Way Driver After Head-On Crash

SANTA FE, N.M. — A Bloomfield woman is facing multiple charges after police said she drove the wrong way and caused a head-on collision Friday night.

Santa Fe police responded around 9:39 p.m. Aug. 29 to the crash, where the driver, identified as 32-year-old Starlyn Staley, showed signs of impairment.

Staley is being charged with great bodily harm by vehicle (DWI), reckless driving, driving with an expired license, and possession of open containers of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Police said she does not have any prior DWI arrests.

Staley remains under medical observation at a local hospital and has not yet been booked. She was issued citations and informed the charges will be submitted to Santa Fe Magistrate Court for review.
