Xixinan Village is 1,200 years old and lies on the banks of the Fengle River. It's surrounded by lush wingnut trees and wetlands with heritage architectural structures scattered throughout. [Voice_over] To help preserve the local environment, authorities have introduced a rotational closure system for the forest wetlands' two entry points. [Sound_bite] Xie Wuqi, Villager: "This forest is our precious asset. We must protect it. By replanting grass, nurturing trees, and watering them, our forest will flourish, helping grow tourism." [Voice_over] The village now boasts over 80 guesthouses and hotels, with eco-study programs, village cafes, and travel photography all helping create jobs for residents.
