This is the shocking moment a local spotted a pair of Nike trainers floating away during a flood.

Wisa Wisakha noticed the low-cut shoes placed on top of a black box amid a drizzle in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand.

Footage shows the footwear drifting across the filthy water on September 2. Upon seeing this, Wisa can be heard giggling at the unusual sight.

She said: 'The shoes belong to my neighbour, and I think the owner might have found them by now.'

Typhoon Kajiki triggered floods and landslides in northern Thailand.

Vietnam has recently been battered by the storm, which made landfall on Monday, leaving at least seven people dead, one missing, and 34 others injured. Officials said more than 7,000 homes were damaged during the storm.

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) said Kajiki had weakened into a low-pressure system over northern Thailand on Wednesday. Despite its dissipation, heavy rainfall was expected to continue in the region for at least two days.
