Israeli forces demolished the minaret of a mosque in Hebron province in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Israeli forces claimed that the minaret that was still under construction was unauthorised.

Israeli authorities frequently demolish Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, alleging they were built without permits.

Rights groups say it is nearly impossible for Palestinians to obtain such permits in Area C, which is under full Israeli control.

The West Bank was divided into Areas A, B and C under the 1995 Oslo II Accord, with Area C making up about 61 percent of the territory.
