VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Broward County man was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase that reached 118 mph on Interstate 95, authorities said.

The pursuit began when the driver fled from Port Orange police, swerving through traffic and running red lights. Deputies said the reckless driving put numerous motorists at risk.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood ended the chase by performing a PIT maneuver, bringing the vehicle to a stop.

The driver, identified as 24-year-old Christian Will Ottinot, was taken into custody and charged with fleeing law enforcement, reckless driving, a Florida Super Speeder violation and multiple traffic offenses.
