ZAPORIZHZHIA, UKRAINE - SEPT. 4 - RESTRICTION: USERS MUST CREDIT "ZAPORIZHZHIA REGIONAL MILITARY ADMINISTRATION" HANDOUT, MUST NOT OBSCURE LOGO — EDITORIAL USE ONLY: Four people were injured in a Russian airstrike on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region on Thursday, Sept. 4, the regional military administration said.
The attack damaged residential buildings as well as electricity and gas lines.
Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, saying it sought to “denazify” and “demilitarize” the country.
Moscow has since demanded that Kyiv abandon plans to join military alliances and withdraw troops from Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson — regions Russia claims to have annexed in September 2022. Ukraine has rejected those terms as an ultimatum and insists on a cease-fire before negotiations.
