Storyline: China's AI Plus initiative fueling industrial transformation [Voice_over] China is accelerating efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into the real economy. The State Council, China's cabinet, recently released guidelines on promoting the country's AI Plus Initiative which is aiming for deep AI integration into six key areas of the economy by 2027. The initiative is expected to shorten R&D cycles and expedite intelligent upgrades of basic research platforms and major infrastructure. In Beijing, AI technology and integration is being used at a new materials research institution to develop metal materials for aeronautical engines. [Sound_bite] Bi Zhongnan, General Manager, International New Materials Innovation Center, Central Iron and Steel Research Institute: "Traditional methods generally take ten years or even longer. But now, with the integration of AI and digital tools, we can significantly shorten the R&D cycle and improve design precision. Currently, our fastest projects—such as the new 3D-printed steel alloys we are developing—can achieve new material designs in under three years." [Sound_bite] Si Xiao, Vice President, Tencent Group: "Making the accessible AI a universally productive force is the most essential meaning of 'Tech for Good'. For example, in areas such as logistics, AI offers significant opportunities to explore new business models and governance frameworks — including drone-based delivery, emergency response, and aerial transportation systems."
