Sri Lanka: Bus Crash in Sri Lanka’s Hill Country Kills 15 Tourists
Ella, Sri Lanka - September 04, 2025 At least 15 people were killed on Thursday when a bus carrying around 30 local tourists plunged down a slope in the mountainous Ella area, about 130 km east of the capital Colombo, police said. Several others were injured and taken to nearby hospitals, authorities added. Rescue teams were deployed to the crash site, which lies in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, a popular tourist destination known for its steep roads and sharp bends.
