Phoenix, United States - September 04, 2025 09/04/2025 01:00 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – According to the Phoenix Police Department watch commander at the scene, Phoenix police and Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of a single-vehicle rollover collision near the 3800 block of East McDowell Road. Officers arrived to find an SUV on its roof, engulfed in flames. The driver of the SUV, an adult male, was ejected from the vehicle during the collision. Phoenix FD crews arrived at the scene and began rendering aid to the driver while additional crews worked to extinguish the burning SUV. The driver of the SUV was transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries. A hard closure was established for McDowell Road, spanning 40th Street to 38th Street, while officers investigated the incident.
