Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - September 03, 2025 Aerial footage shows the Guardia Nacional in Baja California Sur responding to the aftermath of Hurricane Lorena, which brought heavy rains and widespread flooding to the area. The National Guard activated Plan DN-III-E to assist residents affected by the storm. Crews focused on clearing debris from streets and hospitals, coordinating with civil protection authorities, and freeing stranded vehicles to reopen communication routes. Although Lorena had weakened to a tropical storm, it continued to pose serious weather risks, prompting the emergency response. This operation reflects Mexico’s ongoing efforts to respond to natural disasters, similar to the actions taken during Hurricane Olaf in 2021. The Guardia Nacional confirmed: “In BCS, the Guardia Nacional activated Plan DN-III-E to help the population affected by the heavy rains in Los Cabos caused by Hurricane Lorena. Coordinating with civil protection authorities, debris is being removed from streets and hospitals, and vehicles stranded in different areas are being moved.”
