US, Los Angeles: Winnetka Homeowner Shoots At Suspect LAPD Was Searching For
Los Angeles, United States - September 05, 2025 09/05/2025 12:00 am GMT-0700 WINNETKA, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles Police Department's Topanga Division units were searching for an armed suspect in the vicinity of DeSoto Avenue and Vanowen Street. At one point, the suspect ran into a nearby wash and jumped into backyards in the 20800 block of Bassett Street. A resident on Bassett Street reported someone was in their backyard and fired a shot at the suspect; however, the suspect was not struck. Officers later took the suspect into custody without further incident in the 6800 block of Independence Avenue. Following the arrest, officers returned to the residence and interviewed the man who shot at the suspect. No further details are available at this time.
