US, Los Angeles: North Hills Thieves Target Communication Lines in Copper Theft

Los Angeles, United States - September 05, 2025 09/05/2025 02:40 am GMT-0700 NORTH HILLS, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles Police Department's Devonshire Division units responded to a call regarding a copper theft in progress at the intersection of Plummer Street and Gerald Avenue. Thieves were reported to be targeting communication lines to steal copper wire. They cut down the lines before cutting them into smaller sections for easier transport. While an LAPD unit patrolled the area, the suspects fled, leaving behind a pair of bolt cutters. It is unclear if officers were able to apprehend the suspects.
