VARIOUS OF PEOPLE WAVING PALESTINIAN FLAGCARTHAGE, TUNISIA - SEPT. 7, 2025: A total of 22 boats from Spain, joining the Global Sumud Flotilla to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and challenge the blockade, have reached the Tunisian coast. Hundreds of Tunisians gathered at Sidi Bou Said port in the capital Tunis to welcome the boats arriving from Spain. The Global Sumud Flotilla is an international humanitarian initiative launched in July 2025, consisting of more than 50 vessels from ports like Barcelona, aimed at breaking Israel's naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. Its primary goal is to deliver essential aid, such as food, medicine and supplies to Gaza, where famine conditions have been officially declared.
