Pretty female motorbike vlogger, 31, crushed to death under truck wheels
A pretty motorbike rider was killed in a horror road accident just months after marrying her childhood sweetheart.
Channa You, 31, was riding a Yamaha YZF R6 home from the gym when she tried to undertake a construction truck in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on September 5.
The popular motorsport vlogger was clipped by the front of the lorry and tumbled to the ground. She was crushed to death under the wheels when the driver was unable to stop in time.
Dashcam footage captured by the car traveling behind shows lifeless mother-of-one Channa emerging from under the vehicle. The driver failed to stop.
Paramedics arrived at the scene but Channa was pronounced dead. Police are now searching for the driver of the vehicle, who allegedly ran from the scene.
Speaking today, Channa's devastated husband Son Chai said they had known each other since school and finally tied the knot in the summer.
He said: 'I have not been able to sleep since this happened. I cannot eat or do anything. All I can think about is my beautiful wife.
'For the rest of my life I will fight for justice for her. I promise I will find the driver who was too cowardly to stop and help her.
'If there is a heaven she will be an angel, for sure. She was the most beautiful person to anyone who met her.'
Channa's relatives are mid-way through a seven day funeral being held in her home town. They are working with police to find the driver of the truck.
Medics confirmed Channa, who used to post videos of her riding around the city with friends on the internet, died on the scene while the Hino truck driver fled before authorities arrived.
Police are still looking for the driver while Channa's body has been handed to her family for funeral arrangements.
Sok Heng, an investigator from Dangkao district station, said: ‘Emergency response teams were dispatched to manage traffic and investigate the crash.
‘We are searching for the truck driver in order to arrest him on suspicion of reckless driving.'
In 2024, Cambodia recorded 1,509 road traffic deaths, an average of around four a day.
