Storyline: Tapah, the 16th typhoon of the year, brought fierce winds to Taishan City in south China's Guangdong Province ahead of its landfall on Monday morning. The storm made landfall in Guangdong at about 08:50 on Monday, according to the provincial meteorological observatory. With the maximum wind force near its center reaching 32 meters per second, the Typhoon churned ashore at Jiangmen City of Guangdong. About an hour before its landfall, industrial cameras at a thermal power plant located just 30 kilometers from the landing point captured dramatic scenes of powerful winds whipping up giant waves that crashed violently against the shore.
