Heavy rain flooded a subway station in Bangkok, causing widespread disruption in the area.

Footage shows an officer with his trousers rolled up as he wades through the waterlogged facility on September 5.

The torrential downpour began in the afternoon and continued into the evening, triggering floods and heavy traffic congestion.

Bangkok Expressway and Metro said in a statement: 'Due to heavy rain and ongoing construction near the Cultural Centre Station, water has overflowed into the station. Officials are currently investigating and working to resolve the issue. We apologise for any inconvenience.'

Water entered the concourse level at around 6 pm, forcing commuters to make their way through the flooded area to purchase tickets and board trains. Services on the platform level were unaffected.
