Emergency crews checked a plane on the runway after it suffered a steering malfunction during landing.

Footage shows the Philippines Airlines De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 stationary on the tarmac as ground units inspected the aircraft at Busuanga Airport in Coron, Palawan, the Philippines, on September 5.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said the aeroplane encountered a technical problem upon arrival from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, which led to multiple flight disruptions.

Authorities added: 'PAL Express flight GAP2961 from Manila landed at Busuanga Airport at 7:47 am today, September 5, 2025, but was unable to vacate the runway due to a technical issue.

'The Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) is effective from 9:13 am until 2 pm.'

Nine flights were cancelled, one was diverted, and another was delayed, affecting both CebGo and PAL Express services.

CAAP Director General, retired Lieutenant General Raul Del Rosario, instructed airport officials to accelerate clearing efforts and coordinate with airlines to assist affected passengers and implement necessary flight adjustments.

He added: 'The safety of passengers remains our top priority. We are taking all necessary measures to ensure the runway is cleared safely and that normal operations can resume without delay.'

PAL Express is a regional subsidiary of Philippine Airlines, the national flag carrier of the Philippines. It is the country's oldest commercial airline and operates both domestic and international routes.
