Storm topples tree onto parked car
This is the terrifying moment a storm toppled a tree onto a parked car during heavy rain in Thailand.
CCTV footage shows the tree crashing down on a black sedan at a car park in Pathum Thani on Monday.
The torrential downpour had loosened the soil around its roots, causing it to collapse.
Disaster response teams later removed the fallen tree to free the vehicle, which suffered dents and scratches.
Onlooker Natchasorn Athiboonsarun said: 'We often park there, but on that day we were fortunate. Another car was in the spot, so the tree didn't damage ours.'
The Thai Meteorological Department forecasted rains across Thailand as a monsoon trough was stretching across the lower north, the upper nentral, and northeast regions, and a moderate southwest monsoon was prevailing over the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand.
Residents in low-lying areas were warned to be vigilant of flash floods.
