Husband drops camera onto corals... so tour guide free drives 30m to retrieve gadget
This is the impressive moment a tour guide free-dived 30 metres to retrieve a camera that a tourist dropped onto the seabed.
Footage captured on a 360 degrees camera shows the gadget plunging onto the coral at Mantigue Island in Camiguin, the Philippines.
Moments later, the skilled diver swam down and effortlessly grabbed the device on the morning of August 22.
He can be seen placing his arms over his head as he resurfaced.
Holidaymaker Cezar Villa recalled that their guide had been holding their Insta360 device to record their holiday trip, but seemed unsure how to press the record button.
He said: 'I briefly held the camera to start recording and then let go of it. The guide thought I intended to use the camera, so he also released the handle.'
His wife, Eda, added that their friends noticed the device sinking, but since their main guide struggled to equalise and could not dive that deep, he asked another group's guide to retrieve it.
