Footage Shows Nepal’s Parliament Building on Fire Amid Violent Protests
Script:
Dramatic footage from Kathmandu shows smoke billowing from Nepal’s Federal Parliament building as massive anti-government protests spiral out of control. The visuals, filmed by a protester on the ground, capture the moment flames and smoke engulfed the parliament premises. The unrest, led largely by Gen Z demonstrators, has forced Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to resign after days of escalating violence and clashes with security forces. At least 19 people have been killed and more than 100 injured during the protests, which began over a social media ban but have grown into a broader uprising against corruption and political leadership. Nepal now faces political uncertainty as President Ram Chandra Poudel begins consultations to appoint a new prime minister.
