Storyline: Chinese brands lead the way in future technology at IFA Berlin 2025 [Voice_over] Among the flashing lights at IFA Berlin, China’s tech companies are shining. And some of the biggest breakthroughs? They're tiny but mighty. [Sound_bite] Ryan Shi, CTO, Time Kettle: "You just hand your buds to the person you want to talk with, and then you can communicate no matter what language he speaks." [Voice_over] I asked in Ryan in Spanish, what his favorite sport is. He answered in Chinese. And we both understood. At $349, the Timekettle earbuds promise real-time translation in 42 languages. But that is not the only Chinese company making a splash at the IFA this year. Nearby, China’s Rokid is putting the world inside a pair of glasses. [Sound_bite] Wang Yingwen, Head of Brand, Rokid: "They look like normal glasses, they do a lot of functionality like translation teleprompter as well, like first person capture." [Voice_over] At just 49 grams, they’re made to be worn every day, blending fashion with function. [Stand_up] Pablo Gutierrez, Reporter: "China is making waves here at the IFC Berlin, with smart wearables, innovative gadgets and connected technology that aims to change the way we live and work." [Voice_over] For Roborock, that change begins at home and in the garden. [Sound_bite] Pablo Gutierrez, Reporter: "What are you guys aiming to deliver?" [Sound_bite] Quan Gang, President, Roborock: "Actually, what we are delivering is the solution to solve the customer’s problem. So for example, if garden cleaning is the issue, then we produce this product. For the household, floor cleaning is the issue. We are going to detect the issue from the customer, and then our advantage is to make the technology breakthrough and to solve this." [Voice_over] Their latest lawnmower navigates, trims, and recharges on its own. A small step, they say, toward machines that think for themselves. [Sound_bite] Quan Gang, President, Roborock: "In the future, I call it 'new devices'. New devices will be based on AI, the models, and high-quality data for the training, and then the devices can have autonomous decision-making ability." [Voice_over] From earbuds that break language barriers, to glasses that hide a teleprompter, to robots that mow the lawn, Chinese tech at IFA focuses on form AND function. And this year in Berlin, many of those ideas are headlining the show. [Restrictions : No access Chinese mainland]
