Hamas condemns Netanyahu's boast of destroying residential buildings
Storyline: Hamas issued a statement on Monday strongly condemning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for promoting the destruction of dozens of residential buildings in Gaza City, calling it "the most brutal manifestation of a war criminal." The Israeli military has been striking high-rise buildings in Gaza amid the latest assault on the city. On Monday, Israel bombed a 12-floor building, leaving it decimated. The structure had housed dozens of displaced families. Israeli forces struck the building on Monday afternoon after giving a three-hour evacuation order for a high-rise in Gaza City and an area with hundreds of tents. Netanyahu issued a statement on Monday, claiming that the Israeli Air Force had destroyed 50 towers in the Gaza Strip over the past two days, but warned that the attack was "just a prelude". An intensified ground operation is set to follow in the city, the prime minister indicated in the statement. In its statement released on Monday, Hamas also criticized Netanyahu's evacuation warning to Gaza City residents, calling it a criminal act of forced transfer carried out under the threat of bombing, massacre, starvation, and death, a serious violation of international law and humanitarian conventions. The statement called on the international community to take stronger action to stop Israel's crimes against the Palestinian people. According to data from the Palestinian News Agency, Israeli military operations the Gaza Strip on Monday killed at least 59 Palestinians. Israeli forces continued their attacks on Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, also targeting the Nusayrat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, a displaced persons' tent area in the southern Mawasi area, and a crowd waiting to receive aid in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to report from the Palestinian News Agency. According to statistics announced by the Gaza Strip's health department on Monday, hospitals across Gaza received 67 bodies and 320 injured victims over the past 24 hours. Fourteen people died while receiving aid and another 85 were injured, while six more deaths were reported from starvation and malnutrition, including two children.
