Volusia K9 Gator Encounters Bear While Tracking Battery Suspect
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Volusia County Sheriff’s Office K9 had an unexpected encounter while searching for an aggravated battery suspect over the weekend.
K9 Gator was tracking through the woods when he came face-to-face with a bear, deputies said. Both the dog and the bear backed off without incident, leaving the scene unharmed.
The sheriff’s office shared the lighthearted moment, noting that Gator gained his “first bear encounter” and that the two animals appeared to part ways with “mutual respect.”
