PALESTINIAN MAN SPEAKING TO CAMERA GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - SEP. 9, 2025: Thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip staged a protest on Tuesday, Sep. 9, which they called the “Shroud March” to reject forced displacement and affirm their attachment to their land, despite ongoing Israeli bombardment and threats of a ground assault.

The demonstration, joined by health workers, local representatives, and Gaza’s Health Ministry Director General Munir al-Bursh, came after Israeli calls for residents to evacuate to the southern coastal area of al-Mawasi.

Protesters declared they would not abandon their homes and denounced what they described as Israel’s attempt to impose mass displacement through airstrikes and blockade.

The march took place as the Israeli army continued heavy bombardment of the Gaza Strip, destroying dozens of multi-story buildings.

On Tuesday morning, the army issued an evacuation order for the entire Gaza City, compelling nearly 1 million residents to leave their homes and shelters and move south to Al-Mawasi of Khan Younis.

Israel has killed more than 64,500 Palestinians in a brutal offensive in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave and pushed the entire population into famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
