This is the shocking moment Israel launched a strike on a building in Qatar.

CCTV footage shows multiple blasts rocking the capital Doha on Tuesday, September 9.

The attack occurred while Hamas chiefs were meeting to discuss a US proposal for a truce in the Gaza Strip. The group said five of its members were killed, including the son of top negotiator and senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya.

The Israel Defence Forces said the strike targeted senior leaders of Hamas, whom they said were 'directly responsible for the brutal October 7 massacre, and have been orchestrating and managing the war against the State of Israel'.

Qatar Foreign Minister Majed al-Ansari said in a statement: 'This criminal attack constitutes a flagrant violation of all international laws and norms and a serious threat to the security and safety of Qataris and residents of Qatar.

'While strongly condemning this attack, the State of Qatar affirms that it will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behaviour and its continued tampering with regional security, as well as any action targeting its security and sovereignty. Investigations are underway at the highest level, and further details will be announced as soon as they become available.'

The attack also drew heavy international condemnation, including the US, a close ally of Qatar, which hosts more than 10,000 American troops at a US air base just outside Doha.

US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social: 'Unilaterally bombing inside Qatar, a Sovereign Nation and close Ally of the United States, that is working very hard and bravely taking risks with us to broker Peace, does not advance Israel or America's goals.'

Israel has blitzed the Gaza Strip in retaliation for an attack by the governing party Hamas on a Jewish music festival on 7 October 2023. However, the situation, which Israel claims is self-defence, has attracted criticism from around the world.
