Cars washed away during severe floods in Bali
Dozens of cars were swept away during severe floods in Bali as hours of torrential rain battered the island, leaving at least six people dead.
Footage shows vehicles being carried off by strong currents as muddy water surged through streets, where residents were trapped inside their homes.
Some locals tried to save their motorcycles, carrying them to higher ground or lifting them onto elevated parts of their houses to prevent them from being submerged.
When the floodwaters briefly receded, SUVs and sedans were found overturned, broken, and piled against one another, blocking streets.
The holiday island of Bali suffered severe flooding, causing chaos for tourists.
Earlier in the day, a three-storey home collapsed along the banks of the Badung River. At least three residents - a mother and her children - were reported missing following the incident.
In another part of the island, a woman was swept away by strong currents after falling from her motorcycle while attempting to cross a flooded road with her husband in Jembrana Regency.
In nearby Negara City, a hotel was inundated, forcing guests to evacuate to safer ground.
Reports said the intense downpour began on Tuesday morning, lashing the island and triggering floods in several villages across the region.
