Storyline: A group of wild stump-tailed macaques, or bear macaques, a rare monkey species under second-level national protection in China, were recently filmed by infrared cameras in a nature reserve in Longling County, southwest China's Yunnan Province. The footage showed a young bear macaque being carefully looked after by its mother and other group members as they ventured out for food. A moment later, a curious baby macaque approached the infrared camera to poke and investigate it. The young macaque even appeared to mistake the camera for a treat. Bear macaques are known for their strong social bonds and typically live in groups ranging from 10 to 30 individuals. Collective activities are vital for adult macaques to teach younger ones how to survive, find food, and integrate into the group life. Shotlist: Longling County, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, southwest China - Recent: 1. Various of footage showing stump-tailed macaques, or bear macaques, in bush, macaques tinkering with camera.
