Bull elk stalks female through bushes at Yellowstone National Park
This is the moment a bull elk stalked a female through bushes during the mating season at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
Footage shows the antlered creature bugling as he chased after a cow elk through sagebrush on September 4.
Yellowstone National Park said in a Facebook page that the powerful sound acts as a 'calling card' to females and also serves to warn other bulls to stay away from the area.
Staff reminded visitors: 'While in the park, remember to keep 25 yards away from elk. Males are especially aggressive and protective of their territory right now, and they will not hesitate to charge you if they feel threatened. Elk can run up to 40 miles an hour, so it's important to always be aware of your surroundings. If an elk charges, retreat!'
