Bali floods cause devastation as 15 die and 10 are missing
Heavy floods caused destruction across Bali, leaving at least 15 people dead and 10 still missing.
Dramatic footage shows the aftermath of the freak weather, with trash and debris piled along the roadside on September 11.
Emergency crews and residents were seen patrolling the area as cleanup efforts began.
On Wednesday, a three-storey home collapsed along the banks of the Badung River in Denpasar. At least three residents - a mother and her children - were reported missing following the incident.
In another part of the island, a woman was swept away by strong currents after falling from her motorcycle while attempting to cross a flooded road with her husband in Jembrana Regency.
In nearby Negara City, a hotel was flooded, forcing guests to evacuate to safer ground.
Officials reported that heavy rainfall began on Tuesday morning, triggering floods and landslides in East Nusa Tenggara province and Bali.
The rain caused rivers to burst their banks, affecting nine cities and districts on the tourist island. Power outages were also reported, causing disruptions.
Authorities confirmed that 15 bodies were recovered, while 10 people remain missing. Thousands of homes, including tourist spots, were affected.
Indonesia's rainy season, which lasts from roughly September to March, regularly causes flooding and landslides across the country.
