A housewife shows how she harvests fresh oysters from the sea beneath her home.

Dinda Bajoe wades through the water under her house in Tojo Una-Una, Indonesia, and uses a hammer to collect shellfish.

Footage shows her gently tapping a mollusc attached to a post until it detaches on September 10.

She then grabs the sea delicacy and places it on a plate set atop floating Styrofoam in front of her.

Dinda said: 'We often harvest oysters and even eat them raw. They're my favourite, and I find them very delicious.'

Oysters are sessile molluscs that permanently attach themselves to hard surfaces such as rocks, shells, or concrete by secreting a natural cement. This adaptation stabilises them against waves, improves feeding, and enables the formation of dense reefs that support marine ecosystems.
