Storyline AI drives major transformation in China's transportation, logistics industries [Voice_over] AI technology is being integrated into China's transportation and logistics industries to help lower costs and maximize efficiency. On a highway in Shandong province, a fleet of 18 hydrogen-powered trucks filled with cargo are on the move to Qingdao city. This is Shandong's first AI-driven "hydrogen-powered zero-carbon" route, a system that leverages AI algorithm models and data from hydrogen stations to provide drivers with the best route, and the best time, and place, to refuel. [Sound_bite] Chen Guanling, Chief Technology Officer, Foyo Truck: "Overall, empty driving and waiting times have now been reduced to within 10 percent. If our scheduling algorithms perform well, we can lower operating costs and quickly reach the break-even point, even achieving profitability in the future." [Voice_over] AI technology is also optimizing routes for some of China's busiest public transportation systems. To address challenges in its bus system, the city of Hangzhou has launched a public AI transportation model that successfully coordinates vehicle resources with travel demand. [Sound_bite] Wu Weijie, Senior Vice President, Zhipu: "The passengers are mainly elderly people and tourists. The model conducts passenger flow analysis and identification, allowing us to better understand passenger movements from point A to point B, thereby improving the overall operational efficiency and scheduling efficiency of the bus system. This ensures that bus stops can be reached within five minutes of subway stations." [Voice_over] According to data from this summer's 2025 World AI Conference held in Shanghai in July, China has released more than 1,500 large artificial intelligence models to date.
