Shortly after 06:00 Northumberland County Communications Center dispatched a 22-01 Box for a confirmed working structure fire at the Harmony Mine located just off Route 61 in Mount Carmel Township just east of the Borough in Northumberland County.While Columbia County Communications Center dispatched a 340-01 Box for the same location.Units arrived to find a 53' trailer and a 2nd trailer involved. Quick action from Engine 22 suppressed the fire within a short time using (2) 1-3/4" lines. Units operating:Engines: 2, 21, 22, 341, 331Tankers: 332, 353Squad: 5Rescue: 5Truck: 2Utility: 21Ambulances: 11 & 340Chief 20 had command had command. This incident lasted about 2 hrs.It should be noted that while the address and only road for Harmony Mine is located in Mount Carmel Township, Northumberland County, part of the mine located in Conygham Twp. in Columbia County. Due to the distance of Columbia county units Station 22 (Beaverdale) Mt. Carmel Twp is considered the primary coverage area with a secondary dispatch for Columbia County units.
