Footage on Tuesday, Sep. 9, shows the traditional process of red pepper flakes by farmers in Gaziantep’s Islahiye district.

Baskets of freshly picked red chilies were spread out under the sun, their bright color deepening as they slowly dried before being turned into the region’s famous spice.

From early morning, fields and drying yards glowed red as villagers worked long hours on the seasonal task that supports local incomes and adds flavor to Gaziantep’s well-known cuisine.
