Storyline: AI-powered devices transform everyday life in China [Voice_over] From walking to working, AI-powered gadgets are being woven into the fabric of everyday life in China. In the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou, senior citizens at an elderly care facility are using AI-powered exoskeleton robots to help them walk. The device uses AI algorithms to analyze the user's gait in real-time so it can adjust the level of assistance. Since the trial program was launched in March, more and more seniors in Hangzhou have been using the innovative technology. [Sound_bite] Luo Meihua, Hangzhou resident: "It's great for hiking, traveling, even daily walks. It feels much lighter and easier." [Voice_over] Besides at elderly care centers, the exoskeleton robots are also available for rent at some tourist destinations, where the devices make climbing at scenic spots a little easier. [Sound_bite] Ren Jingwei, Smart Mobility Division, Hangzhou Zhiyuan Research Institute: "The system continuously learns and adapts in different environments for individual users. It studies your gait and personalizes its support in real time." [Voice_over] But AI is also enriching life for young people like Mr. Zhang, a finance worker who uses AI-powered earphones to record his discussions and generate meeting summaries and outlines. Mr. Zhang says one of the best uses of the earphones though is for real-time language translation. [Sound_bite] Mr. Zhang, finance professional: "I also use it for real-time translation.
