Rare sun halo shimmers in sky in Thailand
This is the spectacular moment a rare sun halo shimmered in the sky in Thailand.
Footage shows the iridescent circle of light hovering over Trat province on September 10.
Stunned locals recorded the phenomenon at around noon local time.
Sun haloes are caused by the refraction and reflection of sunlight through ice crystals in high-altitude cirrostratus clouds, creating a halo of light around the sun at an angle of around 22 degrees.
In Thailand, they are considered an auspicious sign and are often associated with important events or ceremonies.
