An alleged clan leader with eyebrows shaped like Nike ticks was arrested in Colombia.

The capture took place in the Barranca Vieja district of Calamar, a town in the department of Bolivar, during a joint operation by the National Police, the Military Gaula, and the Criminal Investigation Section.

Authorities reported the arrest on September 5 as part of a wider crackdown on the Gulf Clan, a criminal network also known as the Gaitanist Self-Defence Forces of Colombia, considered one of the largest and most violent organised crime groups in the country.

Footage shows Jhon Jairo Herrera Pacheco, 47, being detained by officers. He is handcuffed as police escort him away under heavy guard.

Officials said Herrera Pacheco, also known by the aliases Jhon and Cejitas Nike, led the clan's local support network in the region.

He is accused of providing logistical support to the criminal organisation, which had been seeking to expand its influence in Bolivar.

Police reports state that Herrera Pacheco began his criminal career in 2021 as a surveillance point. By late 2024, he had risen to lead the group's support network.

Investigators said his unusual eyebrows tattooed to resemble the Nike logo were a key detail that helped identify him.

Law enforcement confirmed that Herrera Pacheco has been charged with aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime. He has been placed at the disposal of the Attorney General's Office while a judge decides on his legal status.

Colonel Alejandro Reyes Ramirez, commander of the Bolivar Police Department, said the arrest represents a severe blow to the Gulf Clan and brings hope to the community of Calamar.

The National Police pledged to continue operations to confront those attempting to destabilise security in the region.
