Two people remain missing, National Disaster Mitigation Agency spokesman Abdul Muhari said in a statement.

Eight of the dead were found in Bali’s capital, Denpasar.

Heavy rains also triggered 18 landslides in Gianyar, Karangasem and Badung districts.

Torrential rains on Tuesday and Wednesday caused rivers to overflow, inundating homes and infrastructure across Bali.

The provincial government has declared a weeklong state of emergency.

Separately, five people were killed and three injured in flash floods that hit East Nusa Tenggara province on Sunday and Monday.

Although rainfall has eased, the disaster agency urged residents to remain alert to flooding, flash floods, landslides and strong winds, warning that the risk of more heavy rain persists.
